Following the calls for President Muhammadu Buhari immediate resignation over insecurity in Nigeria, his currently presiding over a meeting with heads of security establishments and some ministers at the State House in Abuja.

The meeting, which reportedly started at 10am, was convened after the suggestions made at the council of state over the challenge of insecurities across the country.

In attendance are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF); Boss Mustapha; the Chief of Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari; and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno (rtd.).

The ministers at the meeting include those of Defense, Bashir Magashi; Interior, Rauf Aregbesola; and Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama.

It is equally being attended by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Oladayo Amao. The Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor was represented.

Also in attendance are the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman; the Director-General of the Department of State Service (DSS), Yusuf Bichi; and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar.
