Innocent Motors has saluted Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the former CBN Governor and Anambra State governor-elect, for promising to use Innoson Motors as his official vehicle immediately he takes over the political baton from the out-going governor Willie Obiano.
Soludo who disclosed this on Wednesday during an interaction with the members of his transition committee, said he made the decision in order to “bring back the zeal of patronizing our own”.
Soludo during this interaction reassured the public of his campaign promise to only use as his official cars, vehicles made by Innoson Vehicles.
He said, “Igbo land is one and we must protect it. We want to bring back the zeal of patronizing our own. I have said it even during campaigns, and I meant it, that if I win, the official car of the governor of Anambra State will be Innoson motors.”
The governor-elect further stated that his wearing of local fabrics known as Akwete is not a coincidence, but has done so on purpose to support local firms and make a statement.
He said, “My Akwete dress is not just a dress, it’s a statement. I want to make a statement with it. You know, in the entire South-East, this is the only textile thing alive, and it’s handmade, by the women of Akwaete in Abia State.
“The dresses I will wear are those made in our place here. We must protect the things that are made in our place. Something is about to happen in Igboland, and together we will get there.”
However, reacting to Soludo’s gesture of using vehicles made by Innoson Motors as soon as he takes over from Obiano, the African automobile giant said, “Thank you Prof Chukwuma Soludo @ccsoludo for stating categorically that Innoson Vehicles will be your official vehicle during your term as Governor.
“The Chairman, Chief Dr. Innocent Chukwuma is so excited about this motivating news and ready to partner with your Government to make cars affordable for the people. We believe that with your support that Innoson Vehicles will continue to provide quality service to the people and help make it possible for people to be able to afford a brand new vehicle.
“On assumption to office, we look forward to welcoming you to the vehicle manufacturing plant to see how far we have come and how your support and patronage will take us to an enviable height.
“Innoson Vehicles…… Pride of African Roads.”
