Peter Obi, the former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 elections, took to his X handle to express his sorrow over the passing of Hajia Dada.

She was the mother of the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Gen. Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, the former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters.

Obi described Hajia Dada as an exceptional woman who played a significant role in shaping her children’s exemplary leadership. Her unwavering support for her son, the late President Yar’Adua, was instrumental in his efforts to foster unity, peace, and progress in Nigeria. Her commitment to her faith and her nation was evident throughout her life.

He extended his heartfelt condolences to the Yar’Adua family and the people of Katsina State, offering prayers for strength and comfort during this difficult time. Obi also prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and blessings for Hajia Dada and her family.
