Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, who contested in the 2023 election, recently shared a heartfelt statement on his social media platform.

Here are the details of his message:

Today, I had the honor of joining my dear elder brother and friend, @AtedoPeterside, and the entire Peterside Family, at Opobo Town in Rivers State for the Funeral Thanksgiving Service of their beloved mother, Princess Patricia Gbolaba Awune Peterside.

I extend my sincerest condolences to Atedo Peterside, a highly respected Nigerian whose significant contributions to the nation’s economic growth are truly commendable. We are grateful to God for the long and fulfilling life Mama enjoyed and for her invaluable contributions to a better society, as reflected in her children who are excelling in various fields today.

I pray to God to grant Mama eternal rest and comfort the Peterside family during this difficult time. May God continue to protect and bless the Peterside family always.
