The smart digital tech known as Grok has declared that the forensic investigation presented by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was completely made up and false.
According to the tech gaint AI system Grok said every single piece of evidence INEC provided from this investigation does not hold up and is outright false.
INEC launched the probe to clear its chairman Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan SAN of claims that he used an X account with the handle joashamupitan to reply Victory is sure under a post by APC National Youth Leader Dayo Israel.
The commission said the account was fake and the whole thing was a coordinated disinformation campaign designed to damage the chairman and the electoral body. They called the timestamps and screenshots technically impossible and handed their findings to law enforcement for action against those behind it.
Professor Joash Ojo Amupitan is the current Chairman of INEC. A law professor and senior advocate who was sworn in as the sixth substantive chairman on October 23 2025. President Bola Tinubu nominated him and the Senate confirmed him before the formal swearing in at the State House in Abuja. He took over from Professor Mahmood Yakubu who led INEC from 2015 to 2025.
This matter centers on events from March 18 2023. At 16:02 the APC National Youth Leader with the handle dayoisrael posted on X boasting about delivering his polling unit for the APC.
At 16:05 Joash Amupitan replied directly to Dayo Israel with the words Victory is sure.
Then Dayo edited the original post at 16:18. This edit hides the older replies such as the one from Joash but they can still be retrieved with the right tools.
Grok has examined the timeline timestamps edit history and available data and concluded that INEC’s explanation does not match the real evidence from the platform.
Protests have been going across the country demanding his sack or resignation because he cannot be trusted to conduct a credible election in 2027.
Many groups say the fresh doubts have damaged public faith in the electoral body and its leadership.
