Legal practitioner Frank Tietie has criticized the recent peace agreement orchestrated by President Bola Tinubu between Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike, labeling it as ineffective and devoid of legal merit.

Tietie cautions the people of Rivers not to place significant importance on the agreement, asserting that it is merely a facade to manipulate Fubara.

In an interview on Arise News, Tietie contends that the document serves as nothing more than a temporary ceasefire designed to alleviate tensions. He argues that Fubara was already politically weakened before signing the agreement, suggesting that the pact was a strategic move to allow the governor to save face.

Tietie emphasizes the lack of legal foundation for the intervention, expressing concern over the diversion of attention from escalating political tensions in Rivers State.

He dismisses the agreement as a ploy to exploit the fear both parties have for the president, characterizing the document as “worthless and useless.” Tietie concludes by highlighting the perceived humiliation of Fubara through the conditions outlined in the agreement, labeling it a farcical attempt at resolving the political discord.
