The traditional ruler of Oguduasa Isuikwuato, Abia State, HRH Eze Engr. Okey Udeh, has escaped death in an armed robbery attack but lost one of his econfidants, Mr. Eli Okehi, who was shot and died on the spot.

Narrating how the unfortunate incident unfolded, a source said Friday on an Isuikwuato WhatsApp group: “Yesterday, 28th January, 2022 by 17:30hrs, HRH Eze Engr. Udeh and four others were attacked by armed robbers in their vehicle driving down to Isuikwuato from the Okigwe axis.

“HRH Eze Engr. Okey Udeh survived but suffered bullet wounds while the elder brother, Chief Barr. Greg Okehi unfortunately died on the spot.”

The source disclosed that the deadly attack “happened some distance after the point where some roadside traders sale cashew nuts that branched off to Ihube, and the stretch before the military checkpoint towards ABSU gate.”

The armed robbers were said to have “laid ambush on the road shoulders, and immediately opened fire on the vehicles as soon they came within their target.”

Eze Udeh and other surviving occupants of the attacked vehicle are said to be recuperating in an undisclosed hospital.
