Terrorists have invaded the Abdulsalam Abubakar General Hospital in Gulu, Lapai local government area of Niger State, killing two people and abducting 20 medical staff.about:blank

The Nation learnt that the terrorists stormed the hospital at about 2am yesterday and carried out their operation unrestricted.

Those abducted included the head of clinical services, head of haematology, the wife of the head of nursing and his two daughters, wife and daughter of the chief pharmacist, among others.

It was learnt that most of the staff and their families reside in the staff quarters of the hospital.

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello has directed the joint security taskforce to look into ways of bringing an end to the incessant attacks in communities in Lapai Local Government Area.

The governor described the attack as callous and condemnable. (The Nation)
