Reactions have continued to trail the declaration of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as the president-elect, with a political pressure group, Rescue Nigeria Global Network (RNGN), insisting that the outcome of last Saturday’s was pre-determined.

RNGN, rising from a meeting by representatives from across the world, said the results that emanated from each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) were already fixed before the commencement of the poll.

In a communique by its spokespersons, Michael Chukwujekwu, Prof. Mohamed, Barr Ayoola and Prof. Clara Egonwan, maintained that the country will only work again in the absence of corrupt electoral malpractices and errors of commission and omission.

As such, the group said Nigerians should not be making reference to the results as released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The group maintained that the fixed results from the states also reflected over-voting in most cases, alleging further that the commission also declared results in areas where voting did not take place.

“For all the areas where voting took place and the votes counted as well as captured by polling agents must be uploaded through BVAS.

“The corrupt compromise of the active players and partners in rigging the election, should not be given credence to further advance their enterprise.

“The brutality and threats to citizens’ life and to some none corruption INEC officers and youth corps members should not be swept under the carpet till the perpetrators are brought to book,” they stated.

The group demanded the dismissal of the national chairman of INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, and all zonal coordinators of the commission. (Daily Sun)
