Peter Obi and Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party’s presidential and VP candidates in the 2023 election, recently made a trip to the ancient city of Kano to attend a royal wedding.

Obi was invited by the Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero, and the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero, to witness the marriage ceremony of the grandson and daughter of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.

Gathering of Royalty and Dignitaries

The wedding event was a gathering of royalty, with the gracious presence of many royal fathers and highly placed dignitaries, as well as the good people of Kano state. Obi joined the attendees in wishing the newlyweds, Sanusi Aminu Ado Bayero and Rumanah Nasiru Ado Bayero, a blissful marriage filled with happiness and joy.

Obi’s Message of Blessings

In a post on his X handle, Obi expressed his delight in attending the royal wedding and conveyed his best wishes to the couple. He wrote, “May Almighty Allah continue to protect and bless them and their families always.”The event was a significant occasion, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and traditions of the Kano region.
