Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote, has addressed a recent statement attributed to NNPCL spokesperson Mr. Olufemi Soneye regarding the sale of PMS at N898 per litre.

Chiejina describes the claim as misleading and deceptive, aimed at undermining the significant progress made on September 15, 2024, in tackling energy shortages and insecurity that have plagued the economy for 50 years.

Chiejina urges Nigerians to disregard the false statement and wait for an official pricing announcement from the Technical Sub-Committee on Naira-based crude sales to local refineries, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. The announcement is scheduled for October 1, 2024. It is important to note that the current crude stock was purchased in dollars, and the products were sold to NNPCL in dollars, leading to considerable savings compared to their current import costs.

This initiative aims to ensure petrol availability in every local government area, including the most remote regions. We are committed to providing high-quality petroleum products and ending the long-standing fuel scarcity issues in the country.
