The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to honor the will of the people as expressed in the recently concluded Edo State governorship election.

In a statement released shortly after voting ended and collation began, the PDP instructed its members and supporters to vigilantly monitor the ongoing results from polling units. Debo Ologunagba, the party’s spokesperson, emphasized the importance of tracking the results from the Polling Units all the way through to the Ward, Local Government, and State Collation Centers, warning against any potential manipulation or interference by the APC.

The PDP stressed the need for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that all polling unit results are transparently uploaded to the INEC Server and properly declared at the collation centers, in accordance with the provisions of the Electoral Act, 2022, and INEC guidelines for the Edo governorship election.

“The PDP urges the APC to respect the will of the people of Edo State as expressed at the polling units,” the party stated.

Commending the resilience of Edo voters, the PDP praised their determination to defend their votes despite alleged attempts by the APC to undermine the process. The party encouraged its supporters to remain vigilant as they await the final declaration of the results, which they believe will confirm their victory.
