United States Congressman Riley Moore has issued a strong warning to terrorists and anyone linked to the continued killing of Christians in Nigeria.

The warning comes as President Bola Tinubu’s government continues to face accusations from Nigerians and the international community’s that the administration has failed to stop the deadly attacks and has shown complicity through silence and poor action against the violence.

Speaking during an interview on NewsNation with anchor Anna Kooiman on Sunday, Moore said those responsible for the killings would be hunted down and brought to justice.

The American lawmaker warned terrorists not to test the resolve of United States President Donald Trump, saying the US government is now paying serious attention to the growing crisis in Nigeria.

Moore praised Trump for approving the joint Nigerian American military operation that killed Abu Bilal al Minuki, described as the second most powerful ISIS leader globally.

The Republican congressman, who sits on the House Appropriations Committee, said the successful operation sends a strong message to terrorist groups attacking innocent Christians in Nigeria.

According to him, President Trump remains fully committed to defending Christians facing persecution and deadly attacks in north eastern Nigeria.

President Trump is laser focused on defending our Christian brothers and sisters in Nigeria against the slaughter and martyrdom they have faced at the hands of radical Islamic terrorists, Moore said.

The strike on Abu Bilal al Minuki sends a clear message that those who target innocent Christians will be hunted down and brought to justice. Do not test President Trump’s resolve, he added.

Moore also revealed that the US government increased its focus on Nigeria after Trump designated the country as a nation of particular concern on October 31 last year over rising religious violence and insecurity.

The congressman further claimed that Trump personally directed him to investigate the worsening attacks and monitor the crisis affecting Christian communities across Nigeria.

His comments have triggered reactions online as insecurity and terrorism continue to raise serious concerns across the country.
