The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) is investigating the disappearance of one of its official vehicles, a Toyota Buffalo Land Cruiser, from the premises of its national headquarters, Louis Edet House, in Abuja.

The vehicle, which was attached to the Department of Operations, was reported missing on July 28, 2025, after it was allegedly removed from the official parking area within the Force Headquarters.

The incident was uncovered following an internal communication from the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja. The message, distributed to all police commands nationwide, detailed the vehicle’s identification: chassis number JTELU71JX0B027126 and registration number NPF 5594 D.

Police sources confirmed that the vehicle was initially listed as being involved in an accident but was later declared missing after it could not be located in its designated parking space. The case is currently under investigation.

Authorities have directed all area commands, divisions, and formations across the country to be on alert and assist in locating the stolen SUV. The matter has been classified as important, with security operatives urged to provide any information that could lead to its recovery.
